The Prøvestenen district in Copenhagen has been expanded with an additional 18 hectares (44 acres) and 650 metres of new quays. The new area will be primarily used for bulk operations as well as for break bulk and warehouse activities. Prøvestenen, which enjoys a central location, has long been an important terminal for oil and dry bulk products for the whole of the Copenhagen region. Both existing customers and new bulk customers will be able to utilise the areas made available in 2012.
Letter of intent have been signed with five interested parties, all of which are engaged in dry bulk operations. One of these companies put new land into use during 2012. The operation encompasses 32,000 square metres, however, there is also an option to use a further 20,000 square metres. CMP is expected to complete the final ground and road construction work during 2013 and lease the remaining area to new tenants.
